Every December our family loves to sit down and watch a Christmas movie during our Friday pizza and movie nights. Add some hot chocolate, our favorite winter PJ's and a blanket to snuggle under and we are set. It's a great time to bond and get in the spirit. We all have our favorites - mine is Elf and The Nightmare Before Christmas. If you want a slightly more adult choice, try watching Bill Murray in Scrooged.
Here is a list of our eight favorites for kids of all ages.
1. Elf
What can I say, Will Ferrell is absolute magic in this funny tale of a sweet and confused former elf looking for his dad in New York City. Bonus, it has
Zooey Deschanel and Ferrell duet.
2. The Grinch
I love the classic but as far as remakes go, this is really good. The Grinch and his lovable dog, Max, are fleshed out more in this version. Also, Benedict Cumberbatch does a great Grinch voice.
3. A Christmas Story
"You'll shoot your eye out!" nough said.

4. The Snowman
Perfect for younger kids, this movie is short but beautifully animated and lovely to watch.

5. Rudolph
I mean, this is a classic, it would be hard not to put on the list! Stop motion animation at its best.

6. The Muppet Christmas Carol
Of all the Christmas Carol versions I have seen, this is by far my favorite. It's very funny and sweet. Michael Cain makes a great Scrooge and it's cleverly narrated by Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat.

7. Home Alone
Ever so slightly cheesy at times but I love it. Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern as the two robbers are the best.

8. The Nightmare Before Christmas
One of my personal favorites, this movie is a visual feast. The music and characters are brilliant. It's a bit dark at times, so I would save this for older kids.
